Dancing and Softball

Ah, Spring is in the air...and all the winged and furry critters in our backyard are feeling quite frisky!

Lily loves to watch the birds, squirrels, rabbits, and chipmunks from the picture window in her bedroom. We have a water feature on our patio that the birds love and Lily likes to watch them take their "tubbies". Yesterday morning Lily was looking out her window and she said to me, "Doves. Smooching?" Sure enough, I looked out the window and two mourning doves appeared to be grooming each other's heads. Later in the afternoon before Lily went down for her nap she was looking out the window again and said to me, "Doves. Dancing?" Umm, dancing...sure...dirty dancing!

Now, on to a more civilized topic...

Friday we went to see Maggie play softball. Our little jock is playing on the varsity team during her freshman year. Congratulations! Maggie had a great game and it was fun to watch her play. Of course, Lily wanted to do more than watch and couldn't understand why I wouldn't let her run out onto the field to say hi to Maggie!

Maggie taking a breather after making one of the 3 outs she made!

Wow, Dad Dad. Did you see that play Maggie made?

How am I going to go out there and give Maggie a hug if you have me trapped in here?
