Today is the day that Lily becomes a US Citizen....and is a very rainy, windy, thunderstorm and lightening kind of day! We went out for a little while to do some last minute shopping and even with an umbrella the 3 of us got soaked!
Our Travel Group is meeting in the lobby at 1:00 for the "mandatory" Red Couch photo. After picture time we will head to lunch and then to the Consulate for the 4:00 Swearing In ceremony and to receive Lily's US Passport...the final part of the process to officially becoming a forever family! But documents or no documents we already are a forever family!
Right after the ceremony we are headed straight to the airport for a 6:30 flight to Beijing. Tomorrow evening at 6:30 pm we will fly from Beijing direct to Dulles. We will be landing at Dulles at 7:30 pm....only an hour after we took off from Beijing. Wow, have they made a lot of advancements in air travel since we arrived?!? Including the flight home Little Miss Lily will have been on 3 airplane rides in less than 1 week! What a little world traveller!!
I am hoping we will have Internet access in the hotel we stay in in Beijing so we can post pictures of the Swearing In Ceremony and the Red Couch photo. We'll have to wait and see.
We also want to wish Sadie a very Happy 15th Birthday! Sadie if you were with us you would turn 15 12 hours earlier! We can't wait to see you so Lily can wish you Happy Birthday in person!!

THanks so much for calling and the chance to hear Lily's voice. Have a safe trip home. Love to all, Laura
Okay, so Sadie's mom is feeling a bit emotional about the whole 15th bday thing - not that you won't but really - appreciate everything. I love being a mother and I know you do too. I miss you so much and simply can not wait to see you, Tony and Lily.
Me
My baby boy turned 22 yesterday, so I know whereof Patti speaks! Don't let one opportunity pass you by. Treasure every moment in your heart and mind and, if you're quick enough, in a photo. Enjoy babyhood, toddlerhood, and every other -hood. Lily is a tremendous blessing to your lives, and to all of ours. Safe journey home to you all. Love, Eileen
