Too Long On Dry Land

For the last two weeks Lily has had swim lessons every morning.

Tony and I both feel very strongly about wanting Lily to be completely comfortable in the water. So, when our pool offered 10 swimming lessons for $40 we just couldn't say no.

While I have to admit I don't love going to the pool every day...Lily has LOVED every minute of it!! Among my many, many issues is a complete aversion to doing the same thing day after day...including going to the pool.

Luckily, Lily has really enjoyed her lessons...and hanging out at the pool for hours afterward. We have literally spent HOURS upon HOURS at the pool over the last two weeks. I think that explains why I've been so incredibly tired lately. Playing in the water all day makes this old momma very, very tired!!

Lily really is quite a little fish...she absolutely LOVES the water. While admittedly Lily isn't the strongest swimmer, she absolutely LOVES playing in the water. Lily could (and does) jump in, flip, float, and frolic for hours on end.

Each swim lesson ended with an opportunity for the kids to jump off the diving board and slide down the sliding board into the dive well. Despite the expression on Lily's face, she swears she absolutely LOVES the sliding board!

While I'm looking forward to a few days away from the pool I'm sure it won't be long before I hear the words Lily said to me last Sunday night, "Mommy, are we going to the pool tomorrow for my swim lessons? I've been too long on dry land."

Oh Aunt T, Lily's face in the slide pictures is just too much. How funny. Love that little girl!

Too funny isn't it??? Two different days...same exact expression!

I asked Lily again if she liked the slide because her face sure doesn't look like it. Lily said, "You know Mommy, when you come down the slide you never know when you're going to hit the water. That's why I look like that." Okay then.
