A Beanie Day

Last Friday we had a long awaited Aunt T, Lily, and Beanie Day. Our first of the summer and we had a wonderful time!

We started the morning with breakfast with Dad Dad (of course), Aunt BaBa, and Katie. After breakfast we headed to the bowling alley. I'm not sure I should admit this, but the bowling alley is becoming one of Lily's favorite hangouts.

At the beginning of summer I heard about the "Kids Bowl Free" program that AMF was offering. It's really quite simple. Kids under 12 can bowl 2 free games a day...every day...from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Needless to say, I signed Lily up.

I have to confess that bowling is NOT one of my favorite things. There's just something about paying to wear shoes other people (many other people) have worn that doesn't sit well with me. Have I mentioned that I have issues???

The truth is that it's been so incredibly HOT...we've gone bowling much more frequently than I ever imagined!

Anyway, back to our Beanie Day. Lily and Beanie had fun bowling and dancing. Dancing?? Don't ask.

After bowling we headed home for lunch (shocking we didn't go to a restaurant, I know) and a little play time before we went on our next adventure.

After lunch we went to one of my friend's in-law's house to meet up with more friends and go swimming. As we were driving up to the entry gate that leads onto their property Beanie said, "Umm...Aunt T just how rich ARE these people????" I tell you this girl just cracks me up!!

Bean and Lily had a great time swimming. Beanie also got along swimmingly (tee hee hee) with my friends' daughters. As great as Christina is with Lily, it was so nice for her to have a chance to hang out with some girls her own age. After a few minutes of initial awkwardness you would've thought the 3 "big girls" had known each other for years!

Once we finished swimming we headed off for a special afternoon treat at a "make your own sundae" place. Christina LOVED it and declared this is where she would be having her 13th birthday party. Nothing like planning ahead!!

It was a great day and Lily and I are looking forward to another one soon!!

Unfortunately, I forgot to charge my camera battery so I only got a few pictures before my camera died. I'll do better next time. Promise.
