Lilypalooza 2

Happy You You to Lily!

To refer to the party we had for Lily as Lilypalooza 2 actually does a great disservice to the original Lilypalooza. However, I think every birthday party Lily ever has will be called Lilypalooza (insert age). Suffice it to say yesterday's party was on a much smaller scale then last year's extravaganza. What did you expect? This time Tony and I hosted it!!

We all had a really wonderful time (despite the heat and bothersome insects) and Lily just loved being the center of attention. Imagine!

For me?

Lily absolutely loves tea parties. When we told Lily we were having a birthday party for her she kept referring to it as a tea party. Whenever Lily mentioned the party she would say things like: "My tea party Saturday", "Balloons at my tea party", "Dad Dad coming to my tea party". I don't mind telling you I was quite pleased with myself when I came up with this idea for her cake:

Get it? Lily's 2...loves tea parties...so, Tea for 2. Okay, maybe if I feel the need to explain it it really wasn't that clever!

We also bought Lily a little separate "smash" cake. Lily was not at all interested in smashing it...or eating it for that matter. She did, however, enjoy sticking her finger in the icing and then going one-by-one to each person and providing them with samples. Ewww...I mean...Yum!

Yesterday was so much fun! It was great celebrating Lily's birthday with family. I love to see how much Lily loves everyone and how much they love her. I mean, why else would they eat icing off her finger!! Lily is such an amazing and perfect addition to our family. She brings so much joy and happiness to all of us! I think we all find it hard to remember a time without her!!
