A Party For A Princess

On Saturday, Lily and I attended a Princess Birthday Party for one of Lily's friends. On the party invitation it stated that "Royal Attire" was encouraged. One little problem...we don't have any "Royal Attire". To date, Lily has shown no interest in the whole princess thing (Thank God!).

So, we borrowed a little pink princess ensemble from a sweet girl up the street. I'm so glad we did. Not only because every little girl at the party was decked out in head-to-toe princess regalia, but because Lily really LOVED it! Oh my! Let's just say Lily was loving Lily...if you know what I mean!



I think that I've mentioned before that I am not a big fan of children's birthday parties. I love kids and I love parties. It's just something about children's birthday parties that I loathe. Why? I can't really say. Maybe it's some repressed childhood memory...or maybe I'm just a HUGE scrooge.

Whatever the reason for my strong dislike of all things kiddie birthday party-ish, I have to say that the party on Saturday was really "kind of" fun. The kids decorated crowns, played Kiss The Frog (the princess version of Pin The Tail on The Donkey), and feasted on beautiful pink cupcakes. And really, no matter how big of a scrooge I am, it's impossible not to have fun watching Lily have such a good time!
