Two Weeks Down...How Many More To Go?

That's right. As of today it has been two weeks since we received Lily's referral! I can't believe it. These two weeks have absolutely flown by. Waiting to receive Lily's referral each day felt like a year...since receiving her referral I feel like we're on warp speed.

Right now our house looks like a tornado struck it. In our living room is all of Lily's nursery furniture. Why isn't it in Lily's nursery...well, because Lily's nursery has drywall, concrete board (whatever that is), a toilet, and various other bathroom fixtures throughout. I'm sure having a toilet in the nursery would come in handy when it's time for potty training...but, it's not exactly the focal point I was looking for.

Don't get me wrong, even if we hadn't had the unexpected major master bath repair I'm sure Lily's nursery still wouldn't be done. Part of it is procrastination...yes....but another part of it is that we purposely wanted to stay really busy between the time we received Lily's referral and actually going to China to bring Lily home. We've more than accomplished that!

Tony and I are not very handy around the house. However, we are very fortunate to have extremely talented family and friends that are willing to lend a hand. Our nephew, Ryan, took care of the bathroom demolition during his Spring Break....lucky him. I'm sure he really didn't want to be on a beach somewhere! Our brother-in-law, Ed, is helping to put the bathroom back together and our neighbor, Rich, is doing the tile work.

I'm really not worried. We probably have a good 2 or 3 more weeks until we hear anything about our travel approval and then it will be about 2 or 3 more weeks until we actually leave. How long does it take to paint and decorate a nursery? A day, two, maybe three? No worries. We have the bedding, the furniture, etc. It's just not all in the right place, yet!

TJ & Tony,

No matter what is or is not in the nursery, remember the final touch will be Lily.

I Love You, Aunt Teresa
