Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today would have been Mom's 75th birthday. As much as I miss her and wish we could be together to celebrate her birthday something tells me Mom's having the best birthday she's had in years!!!

Of course I have no idea what the next life is like...but somehow I can just picture Mom and Dad together - happy and holding hands.

Dad was all that Mom ever needed to make her happy. Oh, and an occassional hot fudge sundae. But I'm thinking heaven's got that covered!

Happy Birthday, Mom! I love you and miss you and find such great comfort in the thought of you and Dad together again.

TJ, I remember the day that picture was taken like it was yesterday. :) Like you, Mary Agnes was in my thoughts yesterday - wonderful memories of our life together. I pictured her and your Dad together again and it made me smile while shedding a tear or two.

TJ, I could say it was just another day, except when they came to visit it was never just another day on Girard Street. It was an event - lots of catching up on what was new - Granddads affection for your dad just burst forward and he had to have a picture of them. And Mimi, well what can I say - he was wonderful to her daughter - he was attentive to Mimi - he was tall and handsome and he was IRISH!! Need I say more? Your Mom & I went off to catch up on each other's lives and as it always happened, they had to leave before the sun went down and the roads got slick. Mimi and Granddad were happy - it was always a good day when any of their children came to visit. So as you can see it was a "normal" day in one's life, but an awesome day in a sister's life. They couldn't visit too many times as far as I was concerned.

Thank you, Aunt Paula!

I'm sitting here with tears pouring down my cheeks! Thank you so much for sharing your memories of this "awesome sister's day" on Girard Street.

With lots of love,
