Presents!

For Lily's birthday we bought her a few little things. Lily really wasn't too sure about the birthday packages we gave her. At first she was a little hesitant to tear the paper...but then she got the idea...and away she went!

One of Tony and Lily's favorite things to do together is play with stacking cups and blocks. Tony builds these elaborate towers and Lily is a one woman wrecking crew! They can do this for what seems like hours but Tony needed some more "building materials".

The funny thing is the one "toy" that Lily kept going back to was actually a plastic square insert that was in one of the boxes. She was really fascinated with that thing. It reminded me of the story my father always tells about the metal swing set they bought for us one summer. He swears he worked on the darn thing for a week trying to get it assembled and when he finished we never touched it....but we played with the box it came in for the rest of the summer!

By the way, no you don't need to have your eyes checked. That wild print in the background is really our family room furniture! Think 1970's doctor's office decor. Tony and I like a lot of color. Pretty much all of the rooms in our house are painted with intense colors. When we painted the family room we went with a mild-mannered beige...what were we thinking? We had to jazz the room up somehow!
