While we were in China Tony and I teasingly called each other The Kangaroo and The Pack Mule. I was the kangaroo because I always had Little Miss Lily in the baby carrier and poor Tony was the pack mule because he was always carrying the diaper bag, the video camera, the regular camera, any gifts we had purchased, etc. Part of me can't believe that we are really home and that that part of our journey is over.
For 20 days Tony and I were together (with very few exceptions) 24/7 and we enjoyed every second of it! We had so much fun together! You might think after all that time together we would have started to drive each other crazy...but honestly...it was kind of magical. After a week of incredible one-on-one time Little Miss Lily joined us and our happiness grew exponentially!
I'm not saying I think everyone should begin their life as a family in a hotel room. There are some definite limitations when doing that. However, there is something amazing about being able to concentrate solely on each other....no work, no laundry, no meals to cook, no phones to answer, no TV, no distractions....just everything you love most in the world right there in front of you!
Unfortunately, life sequestered away in a hotel room or at home does not pay the bills...so reality must creep back in. This morning Tony headed back to work. Lily and I missed him terribly and I know Tony missed his little sweetie, too! You should have seen how Lily's face lit up when Tony came home this evening! Tony continued his loving ways and made all Lily's bottles for the day before he left for work. He also left a beautiful card for us on the kitchen counter letting us know much he would miss us.
I hope Tony and I never forget the amazing gift of time we had over the last several weeks and that we continue to make time for what is most important in our lives....our family!

Don't worry, TJ, you won't forget and you'll make time for family - you've been blessed and you realize it.
Love,
Eileen
Ok seriously, if you keep making me vomit I might turn bulimic!
